Care Guide
Ardi objects are designed to evolve and develop a patina over time.
Cast in aluminum and hand-finished near Paris, each piece presents slight variations in surface, polish or reflection. These irregularities are not defects, but natural traces of its making.
Over time, the object will develop a natural patina: micro-scratches, tonal variations and marks of use. These are part of its life.
MATERIALS
Our objects are primarily made from recycled cast aluminum.
Depending on the piece, they may also include:
• solid walnut with a satin matte varnish;
• hand-polished brass elements;
• steel components;
• goose feathers sourced with respect for animal welfare, collected after natural molting or at the end of the animal’s life cycle, then dyed in France using natural pigments by Maison Vermeulin, in Angers.
ALUMINUM
Aluminum is a lightweight, durable and naturally stable material.
It does not oxidize like silver and requires only minimal care.
Our objects are available in three finishes:
• Mirror polished;
• Shot blasted;
•
Raw cast finish.
Each finish evolves differently over time. Polished surfaces mark more easily, while shot-blasted or raw finishes develop a softer patina.
CARE
Clean with:
• a soft dry cloth;
• or a slightly damp cloth;
• if necessary, a mild non-abrasive soap.
Avoid:
• abrasive sponges;
• aggressive cleaning products;
• solvents;
• acidic products;
• unsuitable polishing products.
Do not place in a dishwasher.
POLISHING
Aluminum naturally retains its shine.
A specific aluminum care product may occasionally be used with caution, after testing on a discreet area.
Excessive polishing is not recommended.
FOOD USE
Our objects are made from recycled aluminum and are not intended for repeated food use.
They should not be used regularly to prepare, serve or consume food or liquids.
ASSEMBLY
Some pieces include screwed components.
All objects are delivered assembled.
If necessary, certain elements may be tightened or unscrewed carefully. Never force them in order to preserve the threads.
